Notes
1) The AUD patch in Miller's source does not appear to be shnid=25938, as noted in the text file - it sounds different than 25938 and includes the Tuning track before Playing. 25938 was preferred for the matrix and is used for the Playing patch instead.

Thank you to Charlie Miller for the SBD transfer,
and to Michel the Belgian Deadhead for recording the show.
A treasure of a show buried in a very mid understood year (IMHO at least from a long time head’s perspective). This & the night before stand as a

testament to the unique and phenomenal power and ingenuity of this band. From the opening acoustic set (apparently the acoustic guitars were borrowed, heck maybe all their gear was borrowed, I’m sure there’s a great story about that) we get a very inspired top notch performance of, what just about a year prior they stated they had had enough of the acoustic set for now. I guess they must’ve really been looking forward to giving the Dutch fans some of their best energy. They were firing on all cylinders. Then the electric set, holy moly! Hully Gully a doo-wop tube by a little known (by today’s standards) band called the Olympics. Seems like they were playing on gear that was stripped down. What is so cool about this is that you can hear Weir’s guitar not get drowned out by Brent’s keyboards. Brent is relegated to a piano, which is super cool because that’s primarily what Keith used to play. So we get to hear what this iteration of the Dead sounds like when their sound is all stripped down. Super-freakin cool! Lovelight! When was the last time they did this prior to this night? (I’m sure someone knows). Maybe not the best performance of it, but certainly out of the blue and from left (or some kind of field, heck maybe a force field). This Matrix mix is phenomenal and truly captures the uniquely Dutch intimate atmosphere of a very small club (one European commenter stated it was a bar). So here we have the most unique rock band playing on borrowed gear in a small club/bar in Amsterdam, on a Matrix mix! Am I missing anything? How is this not being lauded and applauded by the Heads around? Simply unique, phenomenal but not yet forgotten. Who knew that Europe’81 would or could rival Europe’72? They should’ve come out with a Europe’81 box set or something but I mean just a cool ass show. You want to listen to this!
